Divine Choreography

Divine Choreography

A burgundy van careened toward the intersection at breakneck speed apparently unaware that the traffic light had turned red.

I stood in line at the little corner ice cream shop waiting for my chocolate peanut butter sundae when all at once I heard the intermittent screeching of brakes. I knew instinctively that this was not a good sound.

I whipped my head around just in time to witness the most awe-inspiringly choreographed dance of vehicles I have ever seen. If I had not seen it with my own eyes I would not have believed it.

The van rapidly approached the black sedan stopped at the light waiting to make a left-hand turn. Several cars moved freely through the opposing green light without any knowledge of the imminent broadside accident of which they were about to be victims, if not fatalities.

My mouth fell open as I saw what happpened next. In one seamless, simultaneuos movement the driver of the black sedan made a sharp, sudden left turn on red between oncoming traffic that approached from both directions, and the burgundy van blew into the intersection just missing (by inches) two more cars, that had entered from opposite directions and passed through the intersection at the same precise moment. Both cars cleared the intersection just as the van, unable to stop, continued through and beyond the intersection for about fifty feet. The van's driver slowed, presumably, to catch his breath as he realized that he had just been the leading actor in this Divinely synchronized happenstance.

Perhaps I should call it Divine Car-eography.

Hi there, I followed you here from the comments at Leigh's (Thoughtprints) blog.

I was once involved in a car-eography and felt pretty sure there was an angel watching over ALL of us involved. A scary moment!

This post reminds me of a personal experience I had which was close to an Near-death experience. At that time, I dissociated during a car accident and then awakened in my body with renewed perspective. As the result, my life choices changed greatly. I am who I am now because of learning to step back and sense very differently.

This posting also reminds me of the last scenes of a film called The Sixth Sense. We may have more in common with the protagonist than we realize?

It is not unusual at all to awaken from a near-death experience with a renewed perspective, Liara. I, too, can say that from experience (that's another story). I am glad you are still here as well. And I thank you for your great insight.
Blessings,
Robin

As I reflected further about this post, I was also compelled to note how human natuer often goes to assume the worst possible scenario. How refreshing it is to realize that assuming the worst doesn't necesarily make it happen.
