Decorated Hearts
Decorated Hearts
As I put away the Christmas decorations for another year, I am reminded that the Spirit of Christmas need not be put away. In fact, our hearts can remain decorated all year long.
I responded to a post by Maunie James entitled "The Christmas Clean-up" in just this way: "Your house may be absent the Christmas nuances but your heart remains decorated all year through :-)"
Each new day is a special gift to be opened with the wonder of a child opening presents on Christmas morning.
Every smile we see and each hello we give brings joy to the giver and recipient alike.
Love overflows in the spontaneous embrace of a child and that familiar nudge and lick from a cherished four-legged friend.
The stark white, million tiny snowflakes that gently swirl down to the shivering earth is a comforting blanket, a pristine portrait of peace, if only for a time.
The kind words of a precious friend uplift and bring hope for days to come.
As my dear friend Julie Jordan Scott wrote in her inspiring blog:
"Barbara Kingsolver wrote, 'The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope.' I am choosing to live there, in that hope."
Me, too, Julie. Me, too.
May you be blessed in this New Year with health and hope. And may your hearts
be decorated all year long!

Hello Robin!
Hope is a strong word. I think it is very much realated to "Faith". Our dreams and ambitions are often squelched, but hope and faith keep our lives positive and enriched!
The presents opened this year were highlighted by my young Nephew. He was so excited, and loved the toys recieved. I also was happy, because one of them was a retro "REMAKE" of a 1970's race car set that I had as a kid. I was able to join the fun, and relive old memories of Christmas as a boy.
Yes, you can retain that magic, and relive the spirited feelings of the holiday - in you own mind, and on the track :-)
Wishing you a wonderful year ahead, my friend. Never let your passions for life cool, and when in doubt, the good Lord will be there to put up some new ornaments!!

Speedcat ~ You reminded me of a childhood Christmas in Florida. My brother got a racetrack. Oh the fun we had with that! I think the whole family took turns racing.
I like the reference to the "good Lord putting up new ornaments" ~ Indeed He does, in just the right place at the right time.
May your life be adorned with loveliness and joy in this New Year, too.
You always write the sweetest and most uplifting posts.
You've been tagged by The Queen of Memes. Long live the dungeon.

... when I raced with my father, he always took the slowest car, so that I could win. Isn't that cool!
Stopping by to say hello, and it looks like we will both be having a new album cover (Mimi Tag).
Happy weekend Robin :-)
