Giving

What I Can Give

I give you my absolute friendship, a sure hand to hold,
A strong shoulder to cry on, lean on and cling to.
Uplifting words of comfort and hope.
A listening ear and arms to gently embrace you
In good times and bad.
I give you all the time you need
To tell me what's on your heart.
A loving touch, a heartfelt smile.
A true reflection of the beauty of you.
An answer in your seeking.
An assurance in your doubt.
A stronghold in your stumbling.
A beacon in the dark night of your soul.
I am here for you.
Whenever you need me.
Because I am your friend.

Hi Robin,

thanks for sharing this beautiful post.. Wouldn't the world be great if all of us had at least one special friendship like that..

And what an inspiring goal to yourself be just that, be that special friend to someone else.
I can only hope, as a mother, to be able to provide my kids with just that.. that helping hand for as long as they need it!

Warm wishes to you,

Ellen

Thank you Ellen! Yes, I think most mothers want to be this for their children.
The world WOULD be a different place if we were that kind of friend and we found that kind of friend!
Bless you!

Oh Robin,
What a lovely poem. The sentiment expressed here is so definitely you.

At least it is the way I see and feel you.

I am indeed blessed to have such a friend as you.

And, I am so very glad that I finally got Firefox. I would have been lacking much if I had not read this beautiful poem.

Thanks once again for being such a shining light for all of us!!
Hugs,
Jackie

What a beautiful and uplifting poem!

A person like that is truly a friendship to treasure for all of your life and something to aim for as a friend to others. Thank you for sharing this.

Hi Robin! This is a beautiful poem, and really represents what you are all about. I will never forget the time you reached out to me and made that call. I still can't believe it, but it really had a huge impact on me. I have been through a lot of severe depression and opened up my heart through blogging many times, but what you did stands out to me. Every time I start feeling bad, I remember what you did for me and I feel much better! Thanks so much Robin and have a wonderful day:)

Just wanted to say what beautiful words you used to share... reminds me somewhat of my mother who I blogged about yesterday. I also love the visual! You're extremely creative... thanks and take care...
